Here I Am!

World-Herald art critic Leonard Thiessen was rather nonplussed when he heard that artist John Andrews has been standing on street corners "looking for Jesus." (Mr. Andrews needs a model for his projected drawing of Christ.)

Mr. Thiessen claims to be one of the most experienced Jesus models in town.

He rest his case on the fact that he has posed on at least 20 occassions for Omaha painter-sculptor Bill Farmer.

One of the results of his posing was a sculpture depicting Christ just before His ascension into heaven. The figure was shipped last year to Nigeria, in Africa, where it stands in a church presided by Mr. Farmer's brother, the Rev. Richard Farmer, a Dominican missionary.
