Here I Am! World-Herald, Omaha, Feb. 16, 1965 World-Herald art
critic Leonard Thiessen was rather nonplussed when he heard that artist
John Andrews has been standing on street corners "looking for Jesus."
(Mr. Andrews needs a model for his projected drawing of Christ.) He rest his case on the fact that he has posed on at least 20 occassions for Omaha painter-sculptor Bill Farmer. One of the results of his posing was a sculpture depicting Christ just before His ascension into heaven. The figure was shipped last year to Nigeria, in Africa, where it stands in a church presided by Mr. Farmer's brother, the Rev. Richard Farmer, a Dominican missionary. |
